Nathan Howarth a research assistant within the department of sport, health sciences and social work at Oxford Brookes University. Focusing on the Sports Concussion Awareness Training project with Dr Adam White and Dr Simon Phelan. He received a BA (Hons) in Human Geography from Durham University, in 2020, with a focus on difference and spatial concerns in medical humanities. His dissertation focused on concussion in rugby union and how they differed when playing away from home.  Nathan is currently undertaking a research masters Warwick University Medical School investigating sleep and wellbeing in a controlled trial of different shift patterns in a police service.  Nathan is also an active referee with the Rugby Football Union and a serving special constable with the South West. Before, hopefully, returning to university for a MBBS he is also working as a healthcare care assistant in a specialist neurological rehabilitation unit.
